what ever happened to fact based articles? to careful vetting? to the truth, damn it!
i just left a diary of utmost hysterics claiming bill clinton blocked polling places for TWO HOURS and gore allegedly (GASP) used his motorcade to block bradley voters!!!!! (yes, multiple exclamation marks warranted! HAIR’S ON FIRE!!!)
and, in the course of the breathless discourse, the twitter feed went from one alleged blocking to four blockings to illegal campaigning — and the secretary of state allegedly gave a stern warning (no links) until cnn and gawker wrote [with official sources] what actually occurred.
what is WRONG on this site as of late — it seems the truth doesn’t matter, only one’s belief in a negative story to tear down (or pump up) a candidate without any substantiation or fact behind it. distortions run rampant with the push to force others to comply with their beliefs that their candidate is the one true savior of humanity! (looking at all parties here, every single partisan hack attack without any substantiation or verification aside from twitter or some other anecdotal source.
i constantly review the wreck list here — and look at the other sites on the net — on both i am finding much in the way of opinion but little in the way of solid facts or references to substantiate extraordinary claims. the old saying that extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof STILL holds, but not here, it seems.
we are better than this — the stakes are too high. instead of debating the republican style of small/big hands, why aren’t we discussing policies and direction for the future.
i want more from this site — i want cogent arguments and discussions, not personal slams and insults and blind devotion from ANY side — the stakes are far too high. we cannot afford to engage in this type of circular firing squad — even if we ARE doing it more “civilly” at 20 paces. the end result is still the same — total disaster on so many fronts. ok — rant over. i’m signing off — again — for a few days. the disappointment in what transpires around these parts of late means that i can accomplish more things more effectively elsewhere.
i will be back, like the orange addict i acknowledge being — but i don’t have to stand quietly and watch us all go down the drain without at least trying to stop it from happening.
